POS Extensions
Intro
POS Extensions lists every ShipManta screen that lives inside Shopify POS, side by side in the sidebar: Line Item Info, Line Item Price, Add-On Products and Upsells. Line Item Info and Line Item Price are configured here. Add-On Products and Upsells also render on POS but keep their configuration in their own apps; their entries under POS Extensions open those pages. Staff never change any of this on the device; they just open the screen and fill it in.
Purpose
- Turn a POS extension on or off without redeploying anything on the device
- Capture custom line data (title, notes, …) as Shopify line item properties
- Charge a random / misc unit price without dozens of price variants
- Optionally limit each extension or field with a reusable Condition
What is inside

The last two appear only when your plan and role include that app.
Line Item Info
What staff see
On Shopify POS: Cart → tap a line → Add Info. The screen shows the item name and one input per field you configured, pre-filled with anything already on the line. Save writes the values as line item properties and closes the screen.
Each field has:

| Multi-line | Shows a larger text area |
The list starts empty. Add the first field — for example Title — and it appears on POS immediately. For charging a custom unit price, use Line Item Price instead.
Only Product item rules gate visibility on POS. Metafield and collection rules use the product synced into ShipManta; type, vendor, tags and SKU also work from what POS knows about the line.
Line Item Price
What staff see
On Shopify POS: Cart → tap a line → Set Price. Staff type the unit price to charge and Save. The extension applies a FixedAmount line discount so the customer pays that amount — the same approach Add-On Products already uses on POS.

Setup for random / misc pricing

The receipt may show a strike-through list price and a discount line. Shopify’s gross sales / discount totals inflate; net is the amount charged.
If staff see a notice instead of the price field

Settings (device cache)
Under Apps → POS Extensions → Settings (also linked from each extension’s header):

| Device cache duration | How long POS may reuse the last loaded fields / price config on the device (default 1 hour). Choose Off to always wait for the server |
| Clear POS cache | Bumps a generation counter so every register drops its local copy on the next open |
POS shows cached config immediately when possible, then refreshes in the background. Saving fields or Line Item Price settings also clears the cache automatically. Menu items prefetch while staff view the cart line so Set Price / Add Info often open instantly.

Admin and Owner have both by default. The app needs the Enterprise plan.
